Ramirez 1A Classical Guitar for Sale
For most of 2009 I had acute Guitar Acquisition Syndrome for which there is no known cure or andidote. My symptoms were a custom built Telecaster and a ‘73 Sho Bud pedal steel. A common side effect is the need to get more amps too. My prescription was a DR Z combo and a Schertler David. The fever that results can also lead you to sell some of your guitars to make room and off set the cost of the therapy.
So I let go my Avalon Legacy and custom built Breedlove. Both of these guitars went to people who were in the Tingstad Rumbel “fan” club which made me feel a whole lot better about their new homes.
Which brings us to the subject at hand. I never thought I would even think about finding a place other than my closet for my 1974 Ramirez classic guitar, but it is time to find it a new home. It needs to played and loved.
This is the “Top of the Line” that was hand picked at the Ramirez factory in Madrid. It has an exquisite Brazilian Rosewood pattern. This guitar has been played extensively and thoroughly broken into an amazing instrument with warmth, clarity, massive projection and has proven to be ideal for recording.
This guitar was used on all my Narada recordings, including the 2002 grammy winning “Acoustic Garden” and was the only guitar used on Emerald, Woodlands and Legends!
The frets are in great condition and the neck is perfect. The string height is 10 mm measured at the bridge and the Scale length is 664 mm.
There are a few dings on the front from when Nancy’s Oboe fell on the guitar during the photo shoot for Homeland. The photographer was fired and found shortly thereafter in the East River. Other than that the condition of this Ramirez is flawless and it is one of the most playable concert Ramirez guitars I have ever played. This instrument would be a great investment.
The MSRP on this guitar is around $12k which means you can get a new one for about $9k with a good guy discount. A used one like this are very hard to find and I am willing to pass it on for $6,500.
